TEXTBITES is a research study. We are aiming to find out if a fun and supportive text message program can help young people lead a healthier and happier lifestyle. Our text messages have been developed with young people for young people!  Participants in the intervention group receive interactive information and advice on areas such as nutrition, physical activity and wellbeing. 

Chronic diseases are among the most significant health challenges facing today's young people. Lifestyle risk factors, such as eating and physical activity habits are established during adolescence, making this time a critical period for developing lifelong healthy behaviours. Good eating and physical activity behaviours can help you maintain a healthy weight and improve your overall wellbeing.

We understand it can be difficult to find the motivation to get on top of your health, which is why we are conducting a research study to investigate the use of text messages as a method to help you! By conducting a research study, we want to find out if this program is fun and supportive and if it is beneficial in helping and encouraging young people to lead a better lifestyle.
